Website Take Downs

Brandstrike provides a worldwide website takedown service. This service can be used to remove content that is infringing a company’s copyright and trademark rights or for the website to be taken down.
We issue takedown notices to the owners of the infringing sites and their hosting company. We repeatedly chase until the infringing content is removed or the web site comes down.
Unfortunately, in the case of counterfeit goods, what often happens is that once the site has been removed by one hosting company the site owner moves the content to another hosting company. This can mean that often within minutes the site owner is back and another hosting company has to be contacted to remove the site – this becomes an expensive process with the brand suffering from lost revenue and reputation.
To combat this problem Brandstrike has developed a new service that takes away the counterfeiters ability to make money by removing their payment facilities.
Payment Mechanism Takedown
Brandstrike has worked with PayPal, Visa and MasterCard to understand their requirements for withdrawing their payment services from an online seller of counterfeit goods. We have the processes in place to deliver this service to any firm with an online seller that keeps coming back.
The service includes:
- Test purchases for each payment facility provider - have to prove their payment mechanism can actually be used on the counterfeit web site.
- C&D letter to the web site owner - need to demonstrate to the payment facility provider that other methods have been used to stop the infringement.
- Submission of evidence to each payment facility provider that the IP rights of a brand owner have been infringed.
- Take down request to the web site hosting company.
- Request to Google to delist web site
Brandstrike provides online and domain name registration monitoring services to complement this service.
