Yoshki Image Control and Protection
Image control ensures that web site images are easily updated and correctly displayed across multiple sites. Image protection safeguards against the right click copy function putting your images on the sites of unauthorized sellers and counterfeiters.
Web Site Images – Lack of Control and Protection
Images on web sites are traditionally thought of as logos or photos. However they can also be price lists, disclaimers, product information, contact details or in fact anything that is displayed on a web site.
Problems with web site images come in a number of forms including:
-
Updating numerous web sites with the latest images is a very time consuming and often inaccurate process, resulting in customers and partners responding to out of date information
-
People right clicking their mouse and copying the image onto their web sites to sell counterfeit goods or to act as unauthorized resellers
-
Adobe based web sites are no longer visible on Apple Platforms such as iPhone or iPad
In order to counteract these problems we offer the following Image Control and Protection (IC&P) solution using Yoshki® technology.
Central Control
At the core of this solution is an IC&P Central Repository that all web sites access to obtain their images. In this way any changes to images are automatically distributed to all connected web sites. The IC&P Central Repository can be integrated with an existing image or digital asset manager. Alternatively, images can be loaded manually.
Image management is via a simple intuitive web based interface, the IC&P Central Repository can be either hosted in your network or by Brandstrike.
Upload your images (logo, pictures, text) to the IC&P Central Repository and with a single confirming click you can change all your connected images worldwide. Not only will they be the correct image, they will also automatically be in the correct size, resolution and format.
Should you make a mistake on a price list, fabric composition or general information that has been uploaded through the IC&P Central Repository then amending this can be done at the source image and the linked images are automatically updated.
In addition to these links being capable of distributing your assets worldwide in perfect condition, they also hold the power to trace exactly where your image has gone to and how effective it is being.
This means you can check whether it is being used by unauthorised users and fake sellers to promote their own goods or counterfeits.
Should you find a web site to be using your image unlawfully you can shut off their link immediately so that you are no longer represented on their site - if they are operating illegally you may even want to replace the picture of the asset/s with text stating 'ALERT - this is not an authorised retailer' to highlight to the public you have not authorised your brand to be used on the site.
There are numerous advantages of central image control:
-
No more chasing of affiliates to change their website
-
No more out dated stock pictures
-
No more old price lists on partner web sites
-
On product launch day, you can ensure every seller of your product will have the correct image displayed before any consumer can see it.
Right Click Protection
We believe you should have as much control as possible over who uses your images and what they are used for. People taking images off a web site using the mouse right click copy and paste function is a real issue for many brands. By using Yoshki® technology it is possible to replace the right click copy function with a text box containing a message of your choice.
For example – “This image is copyright protected” or “Thank you for your interest in this image, please email somebody@company.com requesting its use”.
If you would like to give free access to an image then following a right click copy request a text box can appear showing the link which they need to copy for the image or can take them through to another page which will give them the option to select exactly what size and format they want - they can even select the size based on DPI should they want to go straight to print.
Marketing Reports
Because you can trace these links, you can also build invaluable marketing statistics and information which can show effectiveness of campaigns broken into regions and the popularity of certain projects which is presented in easy to understand reports.
